Abstract

The effects of GA©ý and ethephon application on the growth and quality of cut flowers of ¢¥Baegkwang¢¥ chrysanthemums (Dendranthema¡¿grandiflorum) were studied. Generally, the growth and flowering were better in 30% shading treatment than in non-shading control. Occurrence of physiological injury in 30% shading treatment was remarkably reduced as compared to non-shading control. This data indicate that 30% shading increase the yield of cut flowers. Plant height and length of flower stalk increased as the application level of GA©ý increased, The number of days to flowering was shortened by GA©ý treatment. The number and width of leaves increased with higher concentration of ethephon, but reduced by shading treatment. Marketable yield of cut flowers reduced as the level of ethephon increased.
